Universal Remote
Privacy policy for the Universal Remote app.
Universal Remote has no account and no cloud service. It controls TVs directly on your own Wi-Fi network, and it does not collect, store or transmit your personal information to WianTribe Inc. or to anyone else.
The app talks only to the TVs you pair with it, on your own network. There is nothing to sign in to, and nothing leaves your devices except the voice recognition your phone already provides.
What the app accesses, and why
Local network. The app finds and controls TVs on your Wi-Fi. This traffic stays on your network and goes only to the TVs you choose.
Microphone (voice search). When you hold the microphone button, your speech is turned into text by your device's own speech-recognition service and used to search on the TV. The app does not record or keep this audio, and does not send it to WianTribe. How the recognition itself is handled is governed by your device operating system's privacy terms.
Microphone (listening features). Audio-streaming features move sound between your own devices on your own network or private connection. This audio is not sent to WianTribe and is not stored by the app.
What the app does not do
No account, no login, no profile. No advertising and no third-party analytics.
No selling or sharing of personal data. No collection of contacts, location, photos or browsing history.
Data retention
The only thing the app saves is the list of TVs you have paired, and the name you give each one. This is stored on your device and is removed when you remove a TV or uninstall the app.
Children
The app is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children.
If this policy changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated date.
